IPL 2019 | Qualifier 1: Mumbai Indians to take on mighty Kings at their home Ground

Two strongest teams in the Indian Premier League 2019 will clash for the third time this season with one eye on the May 12 final. Both CSK and Mumbai Indians have three titles each thus both teams will look to break the deadlock of three titles and become first IPL franchise to be crowned four-time champions.

The first Qualifier of VIVO Indian Premier League 2019 (IPL 2019), will be played between MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK) & Mumbai Indians (MI) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday.

Mumbai Indians led by Rohit Sharma crushed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) led by Indian batsman/ Wicket Keeper Dinesh Karthik in the last league match on Sunday and moved up to the top of IPL 2019 Points Table.  Chennai Super Kings have been a consistent and superior force throughout the IPL 2019 and the side did not change much in the playing 11. The winner of the Qualifier 1 will directly head for the Finale to be held on 12th May in Hyderabad while the loser will get another chance in Qualifier 2.

Ahead of this match in Chennai on tonight,  look at the key clashes that might decide the fate of this contest.

Quinton de Kock vs Faf du Plessis
Quinton de Kock is yielding run against opponents and has been Mumbai Indians' leading run-scorer through this season. De Kock loves the pace on the ball and has been destructive for MI at the top of the order with 492 runs.

With Shane Watson struggling for form this season, Du Plessis has stepped up for CSK with 314 runs in just 9 game he has pulled out some stunner with his bat. The Proteas is experienced and has all the weapons to handle Mumbai Indian Bowlers.

Rohit Sharma vs Deepak Chahar

With 386 runs in 13 matches as an opener, Mumbai Indians will rely on their skipper Rohit Sharma to nullify Faf Du Plessis much like he did in the last clash between the two sides in Chennai.

Deepak Chahar is the second-highest wicket-taker for Chennai Super Kings with 16 wickets so far and has swung the new ball well in both directions. The CSK pacer will provide a fine test to MI captain Rohit Sharma with the new ball in Chepauk.

Hardik Pandya vs Imran Tahir

What Andre Russell was to Kolkata Knight Riders, Hardik Pandya is to Mumbai Indians. With 380 runs and 14 wickets makes him one the best All Rounder. He has a strike-rate of 197.3 which makes him also one of the most dangerous finishers of IPL-12.

The younger Pandya will face the in-form CSK leg spinner Imran Tahir, who is the second-highest wicket-taker so far with 21 wickets in 14 games at an average of 16.52. Getting on top of the sneaky Tahir will not be easy but Pandya will look to use his bat effectively again him.
